Hard-wearing

Lead roofs last and last. If lead is properly treated and correctly installed, the BBA states that our machine cast lead has an ultimate life in excess of 60 years

Green material

It’s a 100% recyclable material. And, at Midland Lead we only produce using 100% recycled lead.

Weather proof

Lead is an impervious barrier. Nothing can get through. The weight of lead also prevents roofs from lifting in windy conditions.

Versatile

Lead is the ultimate malleable metal. Expert roofers can craft it into complex shapes and even bend it around pipes.

Longevity

Lead has been used on roofs for centuries – so choosing lead today retains the character and history of heritage buildings

Stylish

Although often associated with traditional buildings, lead is prized for its elegance and style in contemporary buildings too.

Not only is the product high quality and exactly what we specified, the customer service was excellent from start to finish”

Wayne Mycroft,, Director, NRA Roofing

supporting education

Supporting the next generation of roofers

We supply free lead to colleges and Roofing Training Groups around the UK. Not just because it gives us a warm fuzzy feeling to help out! But because we want to play our part in addressing the skills shortage in construction, and training the next generation of skilled roofers. Students are able to get hands-on with lead at our manufacturing site in Derbyshire, and learn why it’s a durable, sustainable building material.

Machine cast lead codes and sizes

Our machine cast lead is available in thickness codes 1 (0.45mm) – 8 (3.55mm). Take a look at our weight chart for more information.

The most common lengths we supply for machine cast lead are 3m and 6m, with requests for widths ranging from 150mm – 450mm. But you can talk to us about your specific requirements. On codes 3 and 4 we can offer lengths up to 12m and widths from 150mm right up to 1400mm.
