Lead sealant

Lead sealant – for easy lead flashings

Lead has long been popular as a flashing material, due to its water-resistance and durability. Historically, flashings were held in pace with lead wedges, then sealed with mortar. But now there’s a better way. Using a lead sealant joint instead of a mortar joint is significantly quicker and more efficient.

Long-lasting seal

Our lead sealant – also known as multi-point - is a high quality, lead coloured silicone resin sealant. Both watertight and permanent, it ensures a long-lasting flexible joint between the lead and the masonry or brickwork.

Easy-to-apply

Our lead sealant is quicker and easier to apply than mortar.  It has excellent adhesion, making the sealing work quick and easy. And because the colour of the sealant matches the lead, it looks good too.

Are all lead sealants the same?

Definitely not. The cheaper, acid-based sealants (with their tell-tale weight and vinegar smell) can have a corrosive effect and may stain your lead sheet. In fact, they can even lead to premature product failure. For durability and ease of application, select a high-quality, low modulus neutral cure silicone like Midland Lead lead sealant.
